Overview

The Childhood Lead Action Project aims to:

  • Recruit community members to participate in lead prevention leadership, provide orientation, support, leadership development/advocacy opportunities, help shape/steer/provide grassroots base for work overall

  • Educate community members about lead hazards, lead safety methods

  • Connect community members to lead prevention resources

  • Partner with other agencies (legal, medical/public health, code enforcement, lead abatement funders) to bring unsafe properties into compliance with lead safety laws

  • Expand network of agencies to make referrals/spread info/generally increase local capacity for even strong future collaborative efforts to reduce lead poisoning
