Mike Sage, MPH
Mike Sage, MPH, currently serves as Program Director to the Public Health Institute (PHI)/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Global Health Fellows Program. He maintains a quest researcher appointment at CDC where he has collaborated with CDC, WHO, and Bloomberg Philanthropies on its clean household energy initiative.
Mr. Sage served 34 years at CDC and prior to retirement he was Senior Advisor for Global Environmental Health, National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), with responsibilities that included managing CDC efforts to support clean and safe household energy to reduce the health risk of household air pollution. During his tenure at CDC he served in numerous leadership positions including; Director, Public Health Portfolio Management Program, Office of the Director, CDC; Director of Global Business Services, Office of the Director, CDC; Deputy Director of the Office of Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response; Associate Director for Policy, Planning, and Evaluation at NCEH, and Deputy Director, NCEH.
Mr. Sage’s principal area of interest is in the planning and development of health policy and in translating policy into public health programs and in their evaluation.
